Not long ago I spotted this beautiful pileated woodpecker flitting from tree to tree, tapping and drumming to find his insect breakfast. And I felt happy, for no particular reason.
I recognize that I sometimes put conditions on happiness…if only this would happen or that would happen, then I would be happy.
A wise person once said that happiness comes when you decide to look beyond the imperfections and simply enjoy things as they are.
Watching the lovely woodpecker, I was able to do just that.
And I smiled, for no particular reason…
