Pure delight emanated from him…a lovely squirrel. Not a care in the world. As I watched him happily munch on a maple seed, I had a wondering.
How often do I experience pure delight? I realize I tend to view life through a serious lens…responsibility and worries sometimes overshadow opportunities for joy.
I suspect that our true nature is light-hearted and full of joy, undaunted by the upset that is the everyday world. Delight is so evident in animals and children at play.
Perhaps they instinctively know things we adults have long forgotten. Through their lens of innocence and wonder, they open the door to creativity and magic.
Perhaps it's time to re-examine my relationship with delight and joy.
Something to ponder…inspired by a happy little squirrel.
